TESDA Offers Training on Japanese Cuisine

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is opening opportunities for Filipinos to discover and learn the traditional Japanese cuisine or washoku with a series of free training. In partnership with the ABC Cooking Studio, Japan's most popular cooking studio, TESDA began holding the cooking lessons on June 16 at the TESDA Women's Center in Taguig City. The training will have 11 batches and will last until August this year.

Secretary Joel Villanueva, TESDA Director General, said the free training is open to returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs); Household Service Workers (HSW)/Domestic Helpers?; TESDA trainers in Cookery; TESDA graduates in Food Processing, Cookery and Food and Beverage Services. Known for its simplicity of presentation and healthy image, Washoku was named last year as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
