Free TESDA Vocational Training Courses Offered Region V
For the residents of Region V provinces of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon who wish to avail of the Free TESDA Vocational Training Courses Offered Region V. TESDA Regional Training Center in Region V recently announced the start of enrollment for free training in various TESDA courses being offered by the agency's training center in Pili, Camarines Sur. Each of the short courses offered have 25 openings for students per class and have schedules from 8 AM to 5 PM AND 5 PM to 8 PM from Monday to Friday. The Region V training center also offers Saturday classes from 8 AM to 5 PM for those who are working. Classes will start on December 3, 2018. For those who wish to learn Mechatronics Servicing NC II or Dressmaking NC II, TESDA Provincial Training Center (PTC) in Rosario, Cavite is offering free courses in Mechatronics Servicing and Dressmaking. The Mechatronics Servicing NC II course is designed to develop and enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a mechatronics and automation technician, in accordance with industry standards. It covers the basic and common competencies in addition to the core competencies such as installing, configuring and testing mechatronics and automation devices/system. TESDA renews partnership with Robinsons Malls
The Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) and Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) have renewed their tie-up to bring technical vocational education and training (tech-voc) programs closer to the public.
For another year starting this month, shoppers and mall goers at Robinsons' 19 sites all over the country will continue to find TESDA Specialista Desks manned by personnel who are ready to assist people who need information on the agency's scholarship and other programs.
TESDA, represented by Secretary Joel Villanueva, and RLC, through its president and chief executive officer Frederick Go signed the memorandum of agreement on Monday, September 29, formalizing the partnership for the project.

Filipinos returning to the country to escape the conflict situation in Libya and other strife-torn areas can look forward to the technical-vocational training being offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The training will upgrade their skills or give them new expertise to help them reintegrate in the local economy or boost their chances of finding work in a new foreign country.
According to the TESDA chief, the government has laid out measures so that returning workers do not face a bleak future in the country. From TESDA's end, training programs are available throughout the year on various courses that have the most demand among industries.
Among the courses offered by the agency and its network of public and private institutions are those in priority sectors such as construction, food and beverage, information and communication technology, automotive, metals and engineering, tourism, agriculture and fishery, and many others.
The returning OFWs may go to the TESDA's provincial, district or regional offices, of any technical vocational institutions with TESDA-registered programs and inquire on the training available and their schedules. They may also avail of free training under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) and the Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) of the agency.

TESDA Offers Training on Japanese Cuisine
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is opening opportunities for Filipinos to discover and learn the traditional Japanese cuisine or washoku with a series of free training. In partnership with the ABC Cooking Studio, Japan's most popular cooking studio, TESDA began holding the cooking lessons on June 16 at the TESDA Women's Center in Taguig City. The training will have 11 batches and will last until August this year.
Secretary Joel Villanueva, TESDA Director General, said the free training is open to returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs); Household Service Workers (HSW)/Domestic Helpers?; TESDA trainers in Cookery; TESDA graduates in Food Processing, Cookery and Food and Beverage Services. Known for its simplicity of presentation and healthy image, Washoku was named last year as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Cash for Training Program
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recently implemented the Cash for Training Program or C4TP aims to support the government in providing sustainable interventions to disadvantaged youths by empowering them through skills training and assistance towards gainful employment and entrepreneurial activities. And to better implement the said Cash for Training Program, the DSWD has allotted P 1.3 billion to train a total of 65,730 youth beneficiaries nationwide. TESDA, through its 126 partner institutions, will man the skills training and development of the youth beneficiaries which began last December of 2012 and will run up to May of 2013.

OWWA College Scholarship Program for OFW Dependents
OWWA or Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is the government welfare institution that protects and promotes the interest of member-Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW’s). OWWA also develops responsive programs and services for the social protection of its members and one of those programs is the College scholarship program for OFW dependents. The said OWWA College Scholarship Program for OFW Dependents offers OFW beneficiaries the opportunity to acquire vocational, technical or specialized skills through the OFWDSP or OFW-Dependents Scholarship Program. The said college scholarship program offers financial assistance to qualified dependents of OFWs who are earning a monthly salary of not more than US$400.00 and who shall enroll in any four-year or five-year baccalaureate course or associate course leading to a baccalaureate degree or associate degree in a state college or university. The said scholarship for college is being implemented in every province including NCR or National Capital Region which is given automatic scholarships slots.
